{Your POV}

Being the popular kid was fun and all, but after awhile; it just seemed a little annoying. You were one of the most adored and respected teens at your school and you basked in every moment of it. But as time went by and people started invading your personal space; it was really starting to get on your nerves.

Walking down the hallway to your next class, you stopped by your locker on the way to grab some textbooks you needed. Just as you grabbed your history book and was going to shut your locker, it was suddenly slammed by the hand of another.

Jumping a bit, you looked at the hand and followed the arm to find its owner. You frowned a bit to see that it was Gilbert, who ALWAYS got in your personal space, followed by his friends Antonio and Francis. Together they formed the 'Bad Touch Trio' and had ALL the girls drooling over them. All except you that is.

"Guten tag fraulein, missed me much?" Gilbert said giving you wink.

Rolling your eyes, you simply replied. "Sorry Gil, but I have more important things to care about right now."

"Somezhing more important zhan ze awesome me?" He broke out in laughter with his annoying "Keseseses"s which always irritated you nonstop."Zat's impossible! But let's cut to ze chase und get to ze real awesome topic at hand."

Hearing this you knew what he was going to say- or ask you, the one thing that all the guys were asking every girl. Gilbert was going to ask you to the upcoming formal dance where only the GUYS could ask the gals (yes, they have those) and he wouldn't take no for an answer. You tried walking past him only to be blocked by his gang at both sides, with him standing facing towards you and the lockers. You were trapped.

You sighed and looked at the clock with hope glimmering in your (e/c) eyes. 'Come on, just a few more seconds! Time, don't fail me now!'

"______, vould you be awesome enough to go to ze formal dance vith ze awesome me?"

You pause and let out a long "um" sound in attempt to stall him. "Well I guess I should…"

"BRIIIIIING!!!"

"Oh! The warning bell! Well I guess I should get to my class before I'm late." You hastily said. Just as some late students were speeding towards they're classes, they bumped into Francis and Gilbert creating an opening passage for you.

'Yes! An escape route! ' You thought in joy as you gathered your belongings.

Immediately, you sprinted towards your classroom down the hallway, but then started to slow your pace so you wouldn't be caught by the teachers. Almost dropping your books, you scooped them around your arms securely and didn't look back to where you were running from.

"You shall be mine ______; und ve shall be ze most awesomest couple zhere is!" Gilbert shouted as he claimed he wanted you to be his. He knew you were hard to get and he liked that very much. Also with you being one of the most popular girls at school, it would boost his popularity through the roofs which he would greedily take for himself.

Now entering the classroom and shutting the door forcefully behind you, you gave out a sigh of relief and slipped into your seat with exhaustion. It was a good thing Gilbert wasn't in any of your classes so he would only try to hunt you down between those times.

He was just like all the other guys. Each one would try to find a way to make you theirs and you thought it was just sick how some of them would treat girls that fell for them. Just all for being in the spot-light and having all the fame they can grasp in their voracious hands.

'Why can't someone just recognize me for who I am and not my reputation…' You thought burying your face in your arms at the desk.

{Arthur's POV}

Exiting my recent class, I went to my locker to drop off my books and soon headed off to study hall. As I entered the classroom I was hoping to find some peace at hand, but only to find many students conversing with one another rather loudly. With this being study hall, there were no teachers keeping an eye on the students, but one would usually peek their head once in a while to see if there was any loud disturbances.

'This is a time to get unfinished assignments done, not to gossip about the most incompetent things of others.' I thought as I brushed my messy hair back, taking out my incomplete essay on the Revolutionary war.

I tried to concentrate on my paper, but failed miserably as I was distracted by what a group of guys were talking about. Sighing as I knew I wasn't going to get any work done, I only leaned back in my chair and started listening to what HAD to be so important to them.

"So who are you going to the dance with? One asked to another.

I leaned in closer to hear a bit more and since I was facing the opposite direction, it wouldn't look like I would be snooping in.

"I'm already hooked up with Tiffany. How great is that!?" The one exclaimed proudly.

"Dude, she's such a smokin hot babe. How'd you get her to say yes?"

"Easy. I just gave her a few compliments on her hair, gazed into her eyes, and she came jumping into my arms in an instance!" The one male said smirking that I managed to catch out of the corner of my eye.

'Hmph, those bloody gits are so predictable. It sickens me how they treat women just to get their bloody hands covered in prominence.' I hated this formal dance every bit. It was just an advantage for the men over the woman. In my opinion, I think the ladies should have the choice of whom to take and not those barbaric idiots.

----Time skip (BRITISH STYLE!)---

The long school day finally ended and I was walking out of the school's entrance now. Brushing past through the crowds of students, I could hear what I've been hearing all day again. With the dance only a few days away, I was still left with no one to ask. Well, I chose not to ask because I didn't want to look like those dimwits that had women succumb to their ways.

Sighing, I decided to release this stress and head to my usual spot. It was a large oak tree that sat upon a well-sized hill. This area was like a sanctuary to me. The hill was high enough to block ANY noises and disturbances that came from afar; only to welcome the sounds of birds chirping in the great tree.
~
As I arrived to the 'usual spot', I sat myself down on the softest patch of grass and leaned on the rough bark of the tree. Closing my eyes, I took in the sweet bliss that surrounded my body and mind; setting me into a world of peace. After letting myself drift off for a good few minutes I took out my essay and began working quietly on it.
Finally with my finished assignment at my hand, I slipped it back into my backpack and began to gaze at the endless trail of blue ahead of me, still holding its golden sphere in the air which was slowly making its way towards the ground. I soon began talking to myself, not caring due to the lack of presence around me, of the events that have been going through school; but mostly about the upcoming dance.

{Your POV}

You were walking home now from a long and gruesome day at school, mostly being happy from escaping the clutches of all the men that wanted you for your fame. You just wanted this dance to come and go, hoping to never go through something like it again. But in the back of your mind, you did want to have someone take you so you wouldn't end up by yourself. You still wanted to keep SOME of your popularity, but not with someone who only liked you for that particular reason.

'How did I even end up popular in the first place? I just feel like throwing it all away now.' You thought in depression. Being kind towards others and always helping them in need did make you noticeable by the students, and you couldn't help seeing their cheery faces. So you only worked harder at this and before you knew it, you were one of the most popular girls at your school!

Still walking, you decided to take a different route to your house just to let your mind pay attention to something else and ease your worries. As you took this new course, you seem to notice something that caught your attention. You came to a halt and turned to face a hill that had a huge tree sit aloft of it. Instantly sparking your curiosity and interest, you decided to explore the new area.

As you walked up the hill, trying not to slip with its steepness, you started to hear less and less of what was going on around you. Everything became…quieter, something that you rarely experienced in public, and especially at school.

Finally arriving to the top, you immediately sat yourself against the large oak to catch your breath from the long walk up. You then closed your eyes to take in your surroundings. Everything was pure bliss, with the exception of a few animals in the tree, but as you sat through the comforting silence, a smile was forming on your tiring face.

Just as you were to enjoy the peacefulness some more, you heard a voice. It was close and sounded as if it came right on the opposite side of where you were sitting at. You quietly motioned around the tree, trying not to let the mysterious person notice you, and came to see the legs of a male teen. They had to belong to the voice and you couldn't tell who it was since you only noticed their bottom half and didn't want to venture further so you could keep hidden from him.

"Why must those obnoxious wankers decide on whom to take on the dance? It would be better if the girl got to choose so they would feel more comfortable and not have to go through something so dreadful." He then muttered some curse words under his breath and went silent for a while.

Your eyes widened, and you gasped a bit. Did you just hear a complaint about the one thing that you've been stressing about the whole week? And from a guy? You never thought you would hear such things from the gender that would always want to have his way with your status.

A bit startled now, you heard the boy speak again."Um, if anyone's back there can you show yourself?"

You kept silence and didn't want to be discovered for your eavesdropping. But his voice sounded so innocent…and safe.

"Look, if I said anything hurtful towards you, I'm terribly sorry for it. Just please, if you could walk around so I can see you and apologize to you formally." He desperately requested.

Feeling bad, you slowly walked around the tree to meet with a handsome young man.  He had messy blonde hair and emerald green eyes. You gazed at his features until you finally realized what you were doing and mentally scolded yourself for thinking such things to a stranger you just met.

"I'm very sorry again and I hope you can under-"

"Oh no, please don't be sorry. I should be the one apologizing. I didn't really know you were here and when I did I sort of listened in to what you were saying." You mumbled the last part and felt your face heat up a bit. 'What's so different about this guy from all the others?'You thought.

Breaking the few moments of awkward silence, he slowly asked. "H-hey, you go to my school, right?"

He pointed to your sweatshirt that had the school's mascot on it and you nodded in reply.
"Well you probably never have seen me before since we're in different classes. I'm Arthur Kirkland."He said pulling his hand out.

"______ ______." You replied and shook his hand. You grinned at this. You've never felt such a gentle yet firm handshake and none of the boys at school would introduce themselves to you so properly.

"______...I've heard of that name before."

"Yeah, who hasn't?" You muttered under your breath. Luckily he didn't hear this and sat back down at the spot he was resting on.

"If you want, you can sit by me since you don't have to hide anymore."He shyly said, patting the empty patch of grass, and you accepted his offer.

It was silent, like it has been ever since you came to the hill, but not in a calming way. The sun was now setting and it helped ease down the tension, but only by a small portion. You then tried asking something to break the discomforting silence, but simultaneously Arthur tried asking you something too. You both chuckled a bit.

"Sorry, you go first. " He said with a light blush on his cheeks.

"Ok. Well, I'm not trying to be rude but, why are you here?" You asked calmly, trying not to sound harsh but you were very curious on why he we come to such a place.

"You see, this is a place where I get to relax and escape from any of the world's problems." He said closing his eyes and frowned a bit. "Sometimes I can never handle at what goes on at that school."

"You too?" You asked looking down at the ground at hearing his last statement. Could someone actually understand how you felt about how the students acted and treated others at your school?

{Arthur's POV}

I just met this girl and she seems so…considerate. I've never met someone kinder in my days. We were both looking at each other again and I couldn't stop staring at her glimmering (e/c) eyes and her (h/l)(h/c) hair that looked perfect under the setting sun. After taking in such beauty, she asked me something which made me snap right back into reality.

"So what was it you were going to ask to ask me?" ______ asked as she blushed slightly. She must've noticed me staring at her and I started to feel my face go red.
"Oh, yes. Well, I wanted to ask you the same thing, on why you decided to come to such a place."

She shrugged."Same reason I guess, just to flee from all the annoying jerks that the world has to offer."

Amazing, it's as if she knew entirely about what I've been fuming over for the past few days.  I laughed a bit at the coincidence.

"Hey what's so funny?" She asked pouting at me like a child. It was cute seeing her pout like that.

"Oh, nothing really; it just seems as if we're dealing with such similar issues going on."

"Well I don't see how funny that can be." She calmly retorted while crossing her arms.

"I think you do, after what you heard me say while you were 'spying' behind my back."
Saying this, I saw her eyes widen as she realized what we both were going through. I then saw her face brighten up with a perfect smile growing upon it.

{Your POV}

You couldn't believe it! How can one guy out of all the others be so different? But, in a good way that is. Ever since you met Arthur, he hasn't tried once to flirt with you or anything like that.

You two soon began talking about how some of the students at your school were so cruel and always tried to get what they desired in such hurtful ways. 'It's like I'm talking to myslef in front of a mirror.' You thought. Both of your problems involved having to deal with obnoxious kids and their mindless schemes. As you and Arthur kept getting deeper on the topic; the one thing you dreaded popped up…the formal dance.
~
As you two were talking over how the guys were trying to take the girls to the dance and how the girls would just easily go with them with just one look, you saw the sun finally departing the sky.

"Well that was a really nice chat Arthur and I hope we can do it again sometime." You said as you stood up from the soft grass, with the help of Arthur as he stood up before you and pulled out his hand which you kindly took.

"Yes I hope we can sometime soon, and thank you for that. I hope you manage to go through with the lucky man that asked you to the dance." He said, now that he understood of how you felt of mostly every guy at school. You frowned.

"Well, actually, with me not appreciating the likes of those guys at school, and trying to avoid them so I wouldn't have to answer; I really don't have anyone taking me."

He gave a concerned look at this and started walking up near you. He gently took your hand as you were only a foot away from him. You were stunned by this and started to blush.

"______, you've been so kind towards me and ever since I met you that's all you've been to me.  I know how irritating it can be to go through such things you've told me about with you at school and I understand how that can feel. What I'm saying is I don't see you just for your recognition, but for who you are…caring."

"Arthur, I don't know what to say, but…thank you. That really does mean a lot to me." You said with a shocked face that soon came to you blushing madly again. You were overjoyed to what he said and just wanted to…hug him. But before you could do anything, he asked you that one question.

"______...would you mind going to the dance with me? If that's ok with you that is."
You soon couldn't hold anything back and wrapped your arms around him, shutting your eyes."Yes…yes Arthur I would love to go with you. You've been so kind to me as well and I admire you for that."

"R-really? You would?" He was startled for a moment, but then embraced you in a hug."Thank you…but not for accepting the offer, but for being such a thoughtful person."

At this, the sun finally escaped the sky and the shining moon rose to the stars and heavens.

--- {Extended ending} ---

Vhat!? Vhat do you mean you're taken?" An angry Gilbert said in rage."Yesterday you had no von at your side for ze dance und now you suddenly do!?"

"Well I'm sorry Gil, but I guess you're just gonna have to find someone who would actually want to go with you." You happily said with a grin.

"_____! I never would have thought you would say such a thing." Arthur said half-shocked but still holding a slight smirk on his face.

"Oh come on, you knew he deserved it."

And with that you walked down the hallway cheerfully with one hand entwined with the hand of your new boyfriend.
